Over 10 years of SEO, with 8+ years of performance based online marketing (CPA) using a variety of methods that include but are not limited to PPC, SEO, CPM, Social and PPV with a focus on generating the highest possible ROI through creative marketing techniques.
I have been an affiliate in the insurance industry for over eight years and was able to generate over $3m in revenue with a 60% profit margin, in a 5 year stretch with one partner. All told, over eight years marketing insurance online through multiple channels (PPC, CPM, social, etc.), I was able to produce $4m in total revenue.
My goal has always been maximizing ROI, but even pulling a profit isn’t always straightforward. As an affiliate you don’t have the marketing budget to compete with the big guys and your margins are usually 1/5th of theirs. Many give up, but this is where I see opportunity to be creative and exploit leaks in my competitors strategies and take advantage of new or emerging markets. Whether it’s A/B testing landing pages, scrapping low CTR ad copy and starting over, heat mapping visitors to improve layout, building niche mini-sites based on a targeted keyword, or private media buys – it’s all part of the overall strategy, max ROI.
